In Japan at many stations people can line up at marked places and the train stops with the doors exactly at those places. Efficient and no fuss.
Many European countries don’t have such a mechanism, instead people start walking with all their stuff when the train arrives. As if they “just” discover that the train stops further. A gamble every time.
