Iphone local data sandboxed too?

That Apple stores you phones location is not surprising and makes complete commercial sense. However, that Apple again fails to inform the customer upfront about such a sensitive part of its customers information is baffling. Just complying to legal duties doesn’t make it. Why is this data not encrypted? Why soooo much data? Why sync with all your system in secret. Looking like a Privacy Sell-out really makes people “think different” about you and it won’t be a sales pitch.
