Jon Stewart Quits Daily Show
There is little to add to Jon brilliance for showing the madness of US media and politics in general. We clearly enjoyed him. Now he wants to break new boundaries somewhere else.. Which might be the right thing to do for multiple reasons. His old pals are now running successfully the Late Show and Last Week tonight. Presentation innovation is coming from other corners. There was a time in America when Jon Stewart, the host of “The Daily Show,” was for many Americans the most trusted name in news. Not the most trusted name in comedy, but news. That time has passed. If “The Daily Show” was ever a real threat to the establishment, it would have been canceled years ago. Booksellers will miss him. Knowing when to quit (after 16 years) is also a moment of Zen.
Update: His last show is on 6th August 2015.
