Met deze berichtenservice van PROCIT kan in slechts enkele eenvoudige stappen een ingesproken boodschap met keuzemenu automatisch doorgebeld worden naar een grote groep personen. Het is de oplossing voor organisaties die binnen een korte tijdspanne veel mensen moeten bereiken met een simpele boodschap of vraag.

Op dit moment wordt de service onder andere gebruikt door een grote muziekschool. Al bij het eerste gebruik bleek dat bij het afbellen van lesuren de response ongekend hoog was. Bij de eerste inzet bij een klas van 20 leerlingen reageerde 17 leerlingen op het bericht. De verwachting is dat de service binnenkort ook voor voor consumenten opengesteld wordt.

Het zou me niet verbaasd hebben als er bij een recente bijeenkomst van de Publieke Zaak verborgen camera’s opgehangen waren. Aan de andere kant zouden dan sociologen en antropologen driftig aantekeningen zitten te maken.

De bijeenkomst barste namelijk bijna uit zijn voegen door de enorme energie en wil om te zaken te veranderen. En het moet voor wetenschappers toch altijd interessant zijn om het begin van veranderingen van zo nabij te observeren. De camera’s hingen er niet, dus moeten ze het doen met mijn observaties.

Afgelopen dinsdag vond in het Spant in Bussum het VINT Symposium 2009 plaats. Het centrale thema van de dag was ‘Fast Forward’ en Michiel Boreel, CTO van Sogeti waarvan VINT een onderdeel is, trapte af met de stelling dat we, in deze tijden van crisis misschien maar zo snel mogelijk weer vooruit moesten gaan en naar voren moesten kijken. Maar niet zonder terug te kijken op wat er nu eigenlijk aan de hand is en hoe het nu zover heeft kunnen komen.

Cyclomedia heeft heel Nederland fotografisch vastgelegd in 360 graden-panoramafoto’s. Met nieuwe opname- technologie rijdt het bedrijf nu België, Zwitserland en Zweden in. Google stond nog niet voor de deur voor Street View-foto’s.

Met 34 autootjes rijdt Cyclomedia doorlopend door Nederland om alle gebouwen en wegen letterlijk in beeld te brengen. Gisteren maakte het bedrijf uit Waardenburg bekend dat het de laatste foto heeft genomen om Nederland voor 100 procent in beeld te brengen. Volgend jaar beginnen de chauffeurs opnieuw.

Shortly after the announcement that even podcasts are going to be billed heavily in the Netherlands, the music scene started to respond to those actions in line of current developments..

VPRO (Dutch public radio, tv and internet - non-profit) will start promoting ‘open content’, Creative Commons music in their radio-show Wissel. … This will only be the first step. I am talking about other open content projects for the Publieke Omroep here in Holland as well. So stay sharp for future updates at this blog. 2007 will be the year of free, open and… music of course

Drupal has been a community effort since its earliest days - and a wildly successful one. The project’s the size and scope are now getting beyond what an ad hoc group of volunteers can realistically manage. In response, the Drupal Association has been called into existence. Its purpose is to support the vibrant Drupal community and help provide what it needs to continue to grow and flourish in the future.

RoomWare is a software application running in a defined space. The people in a RoomWare enabled space can use the services running on a local server through their mobile phone (Bluetooth), laptop (Wifi) or other means (RFID). Possible services range from live interaction with the music or video screens to introducing parts of an online profile into the local space.

This project is aimed at providing developers, artists and other interested parties with a plug and play server installation that they can use to jumpstart the development of their room based mobile installations.

At RoomWareDevHouse we intend to investigate possible applications, host discussion and do some hacking while enjoying a tasty beverage. The event is free and anyone interested can attend as long as you intend to participate.

Nieuwe ANWB fietspaddestoel mooier, sterker maar met name aanzienlijk milieuvriendelijker.

NPSP Composieten lanceert Nabasco – nature based composites, als nieuw merk voor milieuvriendelijk kunststof composiet producten.

De ANWB heeft NPSP Composieten uit Haarlem de opdracht gegeven de huidige fietspaddestoelen te vervangen door een milieuvriendelijker versie. Deze bestaat uit natuurvezel i.p.v. glasvezel en wordt vervaardigd met een productieproces met zeer lage milieubelasting. De Life Cycle Analysis methode geeft een milieuvoordeel van de nieuwe fietspaddestoel ten opzichte van de huidige van 50%. ANWB neemt hiermee een concrete actie in de trend van maatschappelijk verantwoord ondernemen. Naast de milieuvoordelen zijn de paddestoelen door het gebruikte dubbele mal procédé ook aanzienlijk fraaier en sterker.

Besides the innovative and environmental aspect, the companies are also judged on their business skills (strategy, management, products and personnel).

Receiving the award from the Dutch Prime Minister Balkenende, also chairman of The Dutch Innovationplatform, is a huge honor. The PM praised the three companies for the fact that they are considered to be the forerunners in the Dutch economy, who also make a commercial success out of their innovative environmental sustainable products.

Fokker 1890 - 1995

There is a serious change that the Dutch airplanes factory of Fokker restarts the production of more fuel efficient 70 & 100 models in The Netherlands. The Dutch / French airliner KLM showed interest in the new models designed by the venture capitalist Jaap R. Rosen Jacobsen.

After the bankruptcy of Fokker in 1995 healthy Fokker divisions continued to operate under several holding companies and its space engineering division still operates as part of Stork Aviation.

Since its bankruptcy several attempts were made to restart the production of Fokker planes in The Netherlands and abroad. Dutch venture capitalist Joep van den Nieuwenhuyzen for example is trying for years to produce the Fokker planes in China.
