Now even fans ,receive protection on the airport against the instrument.. Is it still a good idea to allow so many loud instruments in the stadiums?

The Tour & Rotterdam

Rotterdam will host the start of the Tour 2010, next year on the 3th and 4th July 2010.
The launch of the preparations was made a few days back. There was competition from other cities, however Rotterdam has generously hosted many cycle events in recent years for national competitions and good will campaigns. The cities experience on major events (eg. Euro2000, BavariaCity Race) with a good proposal “New Energy” made the choice easier.

Masters 1997
Already 10 years ago Tiger Woods made a social statement in the American Golf sport. The US Masters is considered at least one of the four, it not the biggest Golf Tournements in the World, comparable with the Grand Slams in tennis. In golf at that time no minority player had been able to participate and win the US Masters. In early days even players were forbidden to play the course. By winning the tournament as the youngest player and with a really record breaking score he changed that fact. Here’s a short interview how he looks at it now..
EU Ski-resorts & Global Warming
Without snow and no snow falling I thought my last ski holiday would have been doomed.
However snow-machines and stored pools of water, even without snow falling, opened more slopes every day from the moment of arrival. As if nature wasn’t needed and we shouldn’t need to worry about global warming.
Okay with only machine snow we could just as well head for Dubai, but recent reports from the OECD does suggest even machines won’t do the trick for ski slopes in Europe with expected temperature rises.
The report, by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, will predict the disappearance of 75 per cent of Alpine glaciers within 45 years, a surge in avalanches and floods and the closure of all but the highest ski resorts.
There is no mention of an exact number of total resorts in danger but this graph gives a count per area. More media coverage is here.

An soccer legend is leaving, Dennis Bergkamp.

Ozzie Soccer – Reverse the Curse
It’s just a game, although after 5 minutes you don’t get that idea. Where did that “socceroos” come from by the way?
He did it again

With tough opponents, still Australia has managed to win their first victory against Japan on the World Cup. Maistro Hiddink Congrats! Maybe its even going too fast for the aussi media now [*it was 3-1].
WK pool update
Update: Latest Moment Snap.
World Cup RSS
I have been looking a little bit around and probably it can be found somewhere, but why is it so hard: An RSS feed that ONLY gives instant World Cup results. I was hoping the official site would have a feed, but on the same feed comes the gossip and newsstories too. DOH.
OK, Microsoft has something, but can I get those feeds in my feedreader or without M$ licence? E-link looks promising too but can’t I get those scores outside the software framework? Is rss so unpopular? I want scores per country only. Nothing more, nothing less.
Anyone?
Update: Try FootieFox
Congrats!
Congrats Foppe.
Netherlands

Hiddink for president, again?

Australia after being away for 32 years is again back to the world championships! Important for the Australian game, which has had in the last years not the best news. Congrats and looking forward seeing them play again. On a smaller note, we like to give a big credit to the coach behind the team. Guus Hiddink, succesful Dutch coach of Korea, PSV and now even for Australia. Respect. (more..)

Shaolin Soccer : De Zeehonden-dribbel
